Community Center
The SAIU Community Center is a place for SAIU members to gather, relax, read and chat. We are open sporadically and by appointment, as well as these regular hours:
*Regular hours have not been set. Email secular[at]indiana.edu if you would like to visit the community center*
You’re welcome to slip any love letters underneath our door and we’ll get them!
Our community center is located in Room 577 of the IMU Student Activities tower. You can access it by taking the student activities tower elevator (the one by Starbucks) to the fifth floor; we are right across from the elevator.
Secular Alliance Library
Our esteemed library contains 230+ books with new ones being donated regularly. Our books are free for anyone to read and check out on an honor system basis. To see a (not quite complete) list of the books available see this google doc. We do not have set open hours, but our officers are going in and out of there frequently – just email secular[at]indiana.edu to arrange a time to meet there.
Information Desk
If you’ve ever wanted to talk to a secularist in an inviting, one-on-one environment, then our Information Desk is the place for you! We have a team of people with a wide variety of world views, from secular deists to lifelong atheists to freethinking humanists; all of our information desk volunteers are willing to answer questions about the secular lifestyle, provide perspective to those with little or no exposure to secularism and provide advice for those who are struggling with or uncomfortable with their beliefs. The person you meet with will be respectful of your beliefs and will engage you in an honest, open discussion, and all we ask is that you are respectful in return. You can email us at secular[at]indiana.edu, to set up an appointment with someone who is right for you. We also have people available for email discussions.
