Mailing List (listserv)

The Secular Alliance of IU uses a LISTSERV mailing list to send emails out to the whole group and inform them about events.  At IU, you are probably on multiple mailing lists on campus that are all centrally managed.  You can go to the IU LISTSERV page to manage your subscriptions all at once.  Here you will find information about subscribing and unsubscribing to lists.

You can learn more about LISTSERV mailing lists at IU from the Knowledge Base article.

If you want to be on the SAIU mailing list, and get event updates, news, and other information, you can send an email to ‘LISTSERV@INDIANA.EDU’ with the text ‘SUBSCRIBE SECULAR-L’ in the body of the email (not the subject line).

If you are on the SAIU mailing list, and would like to stop receiving messages, send an email to ‘LISTSERV@INDIANA.EDU’ with the text ‘UNSUBSCRIBE SECULAR-L’ in the body of the email (not the subject line).

SAIU has designed and acquired our own group t-shirts.  You can see the front and back of the shirts in the photos here.  They are $16, and can be purchased at most group events and meetings.  Just contact Sarah at secular@indiana.edu to get your own.

We wanted the shirts to say “Secular Alliance of IU” on the front, but ran into some issues with IU licensing, so we dropped the IU.  But don’t be confused; we are definitely an IU student group, representing secularists on the IU campus.

Russell’s Tea Parties

Posted at 11:10 pm October 26th, 2008 by SAIU

The Russell’s Tea Party is at 8pm every Sunday. It will be located at the IMU in various locations—check the calendar to find out exactly where (you can also check the home page).

Basically, RTPs are a time to discuss philosophy, politics, skepticism, belief, and whatever else comes up.  The discussions tend to be pretty open-ended—even if we start on a specific topic, that doesn’t mean we’ll end up on the same one at the end.

Above is an image advertising the event, as you can see. If anyone wants to post flyers to help group publicity, let me know and I can send you the image above to print out flyers (you probably have a giant university print quota if you’re a student).
