RSVP on Facebook here.
The drive is from 10am-3pm on Wednesday, Nov. 30 in BU 307. The Secular Alliance at IU and the Sigma Phi Beta fraternity have partnered to hold a blood drive to raise awareness about the MSM blood ban in the US and have a petition signed. This ban affects men who have had even one sexual encounter with another man their lifetime and is medically and scientifically unwarranted.
LADIES: You are also affected by this. Women are disqualified from giving blood if they have had sex in the past 12 months with a man who has had sex with another man, even if only once.
There will be cookies from BLU Boy Chocolate Cafe and Cakery to purchase. All proceeds of the bake sale will go to Positive Link, a care coordination site for people who are living with HIV/AIDS which provides a single point of access for the medical, financial, psychosocial, nutritional/wellness and educational programs that address the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS and their loved ones.
