SAIU is volunteering for Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard (MHC) at Ste G, 1010 S Walnut St. MHC is a food pantry whose mission is to provide healthful, wholesome foods to people in need, as well as nutrition and gardening education. They provide our services in ways that build community while enhancing the dignity, respect, and self-care of all involved. More info here: http://www.mhcfoodpantry.org/index.html

This week we’ll be watching the a movie adapted from a graphic novel about a girl growing up in the Islamic revolution in Iran. We’re continuing on this week’s theme about legislating religious practice (in particular Islam) from the tea party discussion. We’ll be in Swain East 105.

IU Student Involvement Fair

If you’re interested in our group, come talk to some of our members at the Student Involvement Fair in the Indiana Memorial Union Parking Lot. We’ll be there, along with dozens of other student groups, to advertise our presence and catch the attention of freshmen and older students alike who are interested in meeting other secular students.
Join us any time between 11 AM and 3 PM! We’re near the northwest section of the fair.

If you’re interested in the Secular Alliance of IU, come to our Fall 2010 Call-out meeting at Fine Arts 015 (School of Fine Arts-SOFA auditorium) on Sept. 9, 7 PM. You may be a current member, or you may have just heard of us. You’re invited to meet the leadership of SAIU, current members, and learn about what we’ve done and plan to do in the coming semester.
