Scott Forschler, former professor of Philosophy and member of the Minnesota Atheists, will be speaking at the Dogwood Room in the IMU to discuss ethics and religion.

Come join us for tea and discussion in Ballantine 134. Russell’s Tea Parties are SAIU’s periodic general-purpose casual meetups, named after Bertrand Russell’s ‘teapot’ thought experiment, his argument that the burden of proof in supernatural claims lies with the person making the claim.

Come, drink tea, tell us about your religious and non-religious experiences, start a friendly debate, discuss current events, find other members with common interests, start a group project, or even go totally off-topic for a while.

If you’re interested in the Secular Alliance of IU, come to our Fall 2009 Call-out meeting at Fine Arts 102 on September 16th, 8 PM. You may be a current member, or you may have just heard of us. No matter what, you’re invited to meet the leadership of SAIU, current members, students and staff interested in joining us, and you’ll also find out about all the stuff we do.

If you’re interested in our group, come talk to some of our members at the Student Involvement Fair in the Indiana Memorial Union Parking Lot.  We’ll be there, along with dozens of other student groups, to advertise our presence and catch the attention of freshmen and older students alike who are interested in meeting other secular students.

SAIU officers and members will be meeting in Ballantine 134 to plan for SAIU’s participation in the upcoming Student Involvement Fair on Sept 9th as well as our Fall 2009 Call-out on the 16th.  This is SAIU’s first meeting of the school year, but new members need not attend.  If you are interested in joining SAIU, come to the Student Involvement Fair and the Call-out.
