If you’ve missed the news, February 12th is Darwin’s 200th birthday and this year also marks the 150th year since the publication of On the Origin of Species. Thursday, February 12 (Darwin Day itself)
Lecture: “Why I started believing in evolution”: Jeff Marks, Christian-turned-freethinker, is describing his journey from rejecting to accepting evolution. This will be a celebration of science and reason, and a chance to ask questions from someone who has been on both sides of the creation/evolution debate.

Sunday, February 15
Teach-In: “The evolution/creationism controversy”: The Secular Alliance of IU will be putting on a discussion of evolution and creationism and engaging the audience with criticisms of both sides, detailing common myths about evolution. This will be an involved, educational, and fun experience for everyone, from experts in evolution to beginners in the subject.
